I would agree that factory distributor end-play is pretty absurd- the smallest gap I ever found on a factory unit when pulled was .045" and that .060" is probably closer to the average. I tightened one up to .015" ONCE- but it sounded like it was grinding when that tight- so I've generally kept them around .030". Feb 24, 2005.
